Split Outdoors
CONTACTTHE GREAT OUTDOORS
A surprising number of open air activities can be found within the city itself and it’s surrounding area. Take for example the mountains of Mosor and Biokovo with their cliffs on the coast close to amazing beaches. There you can go hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, jeep safari with excellent views over middle Dalmatian islands. Then at the back of the city is the Cetina river nature reserve, with it’s valleys and canyon where you can go rafting, canoe, canyoning and extreme canyoning with excellent views of surrounding mountains. Of course we don’t need to remind you that Split rests snugly on the Adriatic coast in vicinity of the most beautiful Dalmatian islands.
The beaches of Split are a major attraction for sun worshippers, and although they can be a bit too crowded for some, in particular Bačvice beach, you don’t have to travel far to find more peaceful places – and much cleaner waters. More active leisure seekers might prefer participating in sea-kayaking, snorkeling or stand up paddling. You will find plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors with an Adriatic breeze.
